Whirl-y-Gig 31st Birthday
In the notoriously fickle, fashion-led business of clubbing, Whirl-y-gig’s simple formula inspires an enviable loyalty among both staff and customers. With a lorry-load of equipment the stewards totally transform the building. Lights are rigged, walls are draped with parachute silk and saris, and fresh flowers placed on the tables. The result is superbly sensual.
The whole Whirlygig experience can only be described as a fairy-tale voyage, a journey that recreates the magic of a music festival in an enchanted club environment, although more fitting it has been described in fewer words by DJ Monkey Pilot as “an event difficult to describe, a moment difficult to miss“.

London’s only fetish/rave crossover night returned to Union in Vauxhall on Saturday June 30th.
Continuing to expand on their galactic frontiersman mythology, Imaginarium III saw ‘Captains’ Lynch the Hangman and Voodootronix in trouble, as their crew and ship were beset by aliens emanating from the ‘Sub-Bass Anomaly’. Alleged to have hallucinatory and aphrodisiac properties, the Aliens had released a mystery virus into the life support systems of Starship Imaginarium – causing ship wide mayhem and dereliction of duties. A great excuse to spray yourself green and don a stetson if ever there was one.
